July 2023 RECAP
Hey, what's going on family?
My name is Loren and I'm one of the leaders here at Streetlights, sharing this month's mid-year recap.
Last month, Esteban shared some updates about the different branches of the ministry. One big announcement was the title of Alert312's upcoming album "The Lord Is Beauty". We are excited to share the album with you, and we hope that listening to each song will encourage you to reflect on Jesus and all the beautiful facets of His being, the Lord is truly beautiful.
Today, I would love to share an encouraging story we recently received from a teacher here in Chicago who has been using the Streetlights' Audio Bible to connect the Word of God with His students...
Eric says,
"I’ve used the Streetlights application in my classroom at various times and the students have responded really well. Listening to the word of God on the app, along with the instrumentals, seemed to bring about a new sense of inspiration among my students as we began searching through the scriptures. One lesson I remember in particular was the day when we compared two pieces of scripture on a Venn diagram, one from Ephesians and the other from Galatians, as we listened to the app. The results were amazing and we really went deeper with the Lord that day. This method was especially helpful for my students who are primarily auditory learners and struggle to read text. They had to really focus and listen to what the spirit was saying as we discussed afterward what they heard and what stood out to them. It was a really powerful time in our classroom. It’s great to have an option like Streetlights for students to hear the word of God in voices and rhythms that they resonate with them. It’s even greater to hear that some of them asked their parents to download the application on their phones. I’m thankful to those who started this ministry and look forward to using Streetlights in my next class to see what the Lord has in store."
We praise God for testimonies like these that directly portray the heart and mission of Streetlights. We would love to hear from you as well. If you're watching this right now, please share your stories with us by commenting or send a message to contact@streetlightsbible.com.
Lastly, I would like to provide you with a financial update. As a non-profit we are 100% funded by the generosity of others who believe in the mission of Streetlights or have been personally impacted by the ministry. We are so grateful to the many individuals and families who have come alongside us to see the Word of God unfold and the Gospel proclaimed to this generation.
To date, we have raised nearly 50% of our annual budget of $1.6 million but in order to achieve our ministry goals for the year, we need to raise the level of support we are currently receiving. Over the past few months we have averaged around $15K a month in recurring donations, but our current need is $20K a month, so will you help us close the gap by considering one of the following:
1. Please consider becoming a monthly financial partner. This allows us to better establish the financial base of the ministry and empowers us to plan and execute production more efficiently.
2. To our current monthly supporters, will you consider raising your support to help meet our ongoing monthly expenses?
3. And Lastly, for those who are able, will you consider giving a one-time gift today of any amount?
Psalms 119:130 says the Unfolding of your Word gives light - what a gift it is for us to partner together to share the light of Christ.
